The impact of manufacturers will be assessed as well and DOE will use a modified version of its Industry Cash Flow model adapted to this particular product type to calculate manufacturing NPV. Finally, DOE will consider the potential impacts on small business manufacturers as well as other subgroups of manufacturers to identify any that may be disproportionately affected by these proposals.
DOE will also examine whether the test procedure for microwave ovens needs to be updated in order to include active mode power consumption and a possible integrated energy use metric. Currently, tests only provide standby mode power usage.
